Daytona Late Summer Hotel Rates

The high-season of Summer in Daytona Beach has passed. Although the beaches are beautiful and the Daytona weather is still great, this is the time of year the rates go down a little and make it a great value to squeeze in a late summer beach vacation. This year the average hotel rates are doing something slightly unusual. Generally we see a drop of at least 10% in average hotel nightly room rates across the board. In 2011 late summer we are seeing that the higher end hotels are dropping 10% or more with some as high as 25% off. However, the lower end Daytona Hotels are increasing their rates around 10%. What does that mean for a guest looking for a cheap hotel in Daytona Beach? What we are seeing with the nightly rates is it may actually be a better value to book a higher end hotel. Although the higher end hotels on average are 50% more than the value priced hotels, right now its closer to a 35% premium. That means you are getting more hotel value for your money.
